Brief History
Our name, NetReach: We chose our name
NetReach to signify a special meaning : the ‘Net’ part
signifies a network of computers, people and communities
and ‘Reach’ signifies of us wanting to help everyone
reach out, interact and transact with one another in a
world of multi modal networks.
NetReach started operations in June 1996, with 4 business
partners in their full time careers exploring first
mover advantage for Internet business opportunities
in Singapore in the nascent stages of Internet technology
penetration. Soon after its formation, NetReach’s focus
was geared towards developing web-enabled applications,
system integration work and providing head hunting for
professional software consultants. With a broad focus,
limited capital and half committed management, NetReach
underwent a period of uncertainty in the first 3 years
of its operation.
This brought about a clear focus to NetReach's corporate goals
and relevant strategic direction under a proactive and
committed executive management.
In late 1998, one of the directors, Mohan Chugani, decided
to buy off all company shares owned by the three other
share holders. Since he owned another company, all major
customer accounts and service lines were transferred
for consolidation into NetReach. This allowed a clear
focus to NetReach’s corporate goals and proactive direction
under a committed executive management.
Soon after management buyout, the major service lines
for NetReach were re-defined as encompassing the areas
of client server and web enabled database applications.
The company's Fortune 500 client base expanded
NetReach's scope of work to a greater scale, involving
enterprise-wide projects. To meet the growing demand,
NetReach expanded operations and hired more staff.
NetReach leverages on emerging technologies
as a strategy to stay relevant in the marketplace. In
the late 1990s, when Java evolved as the new standard
for web-based application development, NetReach saw
its potential as an important open standard and became
an early adopter of J2EE. Increasingly, J2EE standard
became an important technology for serious business
applications, validating the company's direction in
this new technology.
Today, NetReach invests in resources that allows the
company to provide end-to-end Internet technology solutions,
including strategy creation, technology architecture,
usability analysis and interface design, application
development and integration, .NET technology, Corporate
Portals, Content Management and ongoing support.
The company's blue chip client list includes enterprises
such as Caltex, P&O Nedlloyd, PricewaterhouseCoopers,
National University Hospital etc etc.
