1921

The Founding

Ten visionary Sindhi merchants gather under Mr T Naraindas to form the Sindhi Merchants Association — planting a seed that would grow into a towering legacy.

1938

First Home — Enggor Street

The Association acquires its first property, offering shelter and warmth to Sindhis arriving in Singapore. A refuge is born.

1947

Resilience After Partition

Sindhis displaced from their homeland find solace here. SSA rises to the moment — acquiring Neil Road and Oxley Rise to house a people reborn from loss.

1990s

Sindhu House — Our Forever Home

795 Mountbatten Road becomes the beating heart of the Sindhi community — a Cultural & Religious Centre for over 4,000 Sindhis who call Singapore home.

2003

A New Name, A Wider Embrace

Renamed the Singapore Sindhi Association. Membership opens to all adult Sindhis — the community steps boldly into the modern era.

2007

International Sindhi Sammelan

Singapore hosts the world. Sindhis from across the globe converge at SSA — a watershed moment that put our community on the world map.

2026

105 Years — A Golden Jubilee of Jubilees

650+ members. 4,000+ strong. We stand proud, united, and unstoppable — celebrating the greatest milestone in our community's magnificent history.
